FP3 0
I drove my VR6 Highline (Diamond Black '97 - 61K, all original mint condition) yesterday after having driven my new R32 for the last month - oh dear how sad it was. I can't believe how it was sooooo slow, the steering was so heavy & the brakes spongy. I've loved & cherished my VR6 but it is now consigned to the wife to cart the kids around - the R32 is an absolute beast!
antera309 3
Not to mention the extra refinement & ride comfort.I test drove a Mk4 R32 last month, and after driving that, my VR cabby felt about as smooth & refined as a 1950s London bus. I know the mk4 is heavier, but it certainly didn't feel it.I love my mk3s, but you can't deny progress.
katconcarne 0
i wish i had an r32! i´ll have to hold off driving one, so my vr still feels like a dream. i wonder what the difference between r32 golf and w12 phaeton feels like? (hoping i get to find out first hand one day!)(@)
dellert 0
Hold on to your money, progress!!! There will soon be an R36!!! V6 3.6 24V!!!
tinny22 11
but for £3,000 to £14,000 is a big gap and for head turners the vr will always do that. but dont get me wrong i would have a r32 if i had the money but going down all the time the vr has drop so much it cant drop any moretinny22

FP3 0
Have noted that an R36 may be on the way but it will be the new Mk6 Golf which is being built to a much smaller budget than the current Mk5 - will have to see how it matches up but for the moment I open my window every time I drive off in 1st or 2nd just to hear it roar.... goonersteve 0
I don't think anyone on here in their right mind would turn down an R32. But i bet most can't afford it either!.....which is where the VR comes into it's own.Maybe when the R36 comes out, that'll bring down the price of R32 on 2nd hand market. Even then i'm still years off being able to afford one! :-( But i'm still more than happy with my VR for now

jezmoz 0
I would give a nut for an r32, sick of my vr6, keep getting whipped by semi standard modern cars
antera309 3
True say, the R32 is just a bit too pricey at the moment. As soon as the prices start going below 12k, it will be a different matter. Mk4 GTI Anniversaries are good value right now, but they just don't have that gorgeous R32 sound!!The only thing that lets the mk3 VR6 down really is the wallowy standard suspension. Sure you can fit aftermarket suspension, but this wrecks the ride quality.. I can't argue that VR6s are good value for money though.

tubby 0
I think this thread should be deleted as homage to this site after all it is the vr6 owners club and not the r32 if you guys like them so much go start an r32 site bet you get lots of interest not.sorry but i feel quite strongly about this and if i`ve upset anyone tough it needs to be said.vr6virginhardliner
dellert 0
Come on VRVirgin, R32 is a VR6! If you look into what VR6 stands for it is a V6 with a single head. So VR6, V6-4Motion, and R32 all come from the same great thought, a little car with a V6, in fact I bet if you strip off all the plastic and electrics you would not be able to tell the difference! Same great V6 roar, new improved bite!!!

vr6highline28 0
r32 is a great car and maybe looking soon to buy one soon though before i do will need to satisfy my self it really is worth the premium over a v6 4motion !! the vr6 is a classic in it's own right as one of the few cars i know named after its engine which says it all ! will never sell it ! VR6Pete 1,455
VR6OC supports all "VR" engined cars, 4 motion, and R32 are practically the same anyway, therefore I welcome any R32 owner with open arms As Nick says, Evolution and Progress!
VR6Lee 1
This may contain some opinions and comments that you may not agree with. If on the other hand you like a good giggle and can accept opinions other than your own then please read on.If ya wanna a classic car in 10 years time well the VR is it (h) Great car (h) Great looks (h) Great drive (h) but in 'my opion' this car is not for speed. You can not expect the VR6 a 10 year+ car to keep up withthe cars they are producing in todays standards.Even by throwing money by putting remaps and chargers only shorten the life of ya VR and they still struggle if ya wanna burn off from the traffic lights. If you wanna buy a car for speed, dont invest in a VR6 and if you thinkby spending on extras will help, dont be fooled as the it spends more time in the garage. You might as well go and get a new one with a warrentythere are some good deals out there on cars that havebetter 0-60 if you look.
