shail 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Report Share Posted June 10, 2004 I finally got round to fitting my tweeters properly in the dash. only problem is that they sound very harsh. Had the same set in my last golf where they sounded fine running off a sony H/Unit and Alpine amp. Only difference now is the H/U is a kenwood. Is there any way of reducing the harsh tinny sound of the tweeters without changing the H/U? Ive set the x-overs to the least harsh setting as well.They are MB Quart Discus components by the way. Pittuf 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Report Share Posted June 10, 2004 My Kenwood head unit has loads of settings for treble frequency, have you tried playing with those.Maybe you need to put more power to your sub and less power to the tweeters? Link to post Share on other sites
shail 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Author Report Share Posted June 10, 2004 Ive just got a standard treble setting, ive tried them but still harsh. Cant put more power to the sub as its at a level where it sounds good, any more power and it'll just fart away. Ive been told to cover the tweeter with a thin bit of material to help soften them up - could be worth a pop. Link to post Share on other sites
