I finally got round to fitting my tweeters properly in the dash. only problem is that they sound very harsh. Had the same set in my last golf where they sounded fine running off a sony H/Unit and Alpine amp. Only difference now is the H/U is a kenwood. Is there any way of reducing the harsh tinny sound of the tweeters without changing the H/U? Ive set the x-overs to the least harsh setting as well.

They are MB Quart Discus components by the way.

Ive just got a standard treble setting, ive tried them but still harsh. Cant put more power to the sub as its at a level where it sounds good, any more power and it'll just fart away. Ive been told to cover the tweeter with a thin bit of material to help soften them up - could be worth a pop.

I must admit mate, I had no experience with components yet, (soon to be changed tho) so I was only guessing.

I know I had trouble setting my system up to sound good, an as soon as I did I crashed me car and have had to start all over again in the Golf
