Seademon 0
Do VR's have clutch ratchets? Sounds like what that is to me
aad 0
Yes the same thing happened to me, there is a metal plate at the top of the clutch pedal, which breaks on the little spots of weld so the clutch cable pushes the little piece of metal that sits at the top of the pedal.I drove my car back home for about 10 miles clutchless, it is a pain but get the plate welded back on the pedal, you need to take the clutch pedal off the white bit of plastic it's what the clutch cable sits in, there is a piston type spring also there is a surclip which holds the pedal on, you may have to get a new one as i broke mine taking it off so be carefull it's a b%%^$#d of a job as there is not much room.If you do break it vw dealers do them i got one for 30p, make sure they order you the right one the first one they got me was for a mk4 there clips are bigger and dont fit.good luck mate. [/quote']make sure that you replace the white clip as it brakes and it does important job ,and if you dont you will have to take it all apart again later ...like i did (not much fun)
