Guest spiked69 Posted September 3, 2006 Report Share Posted September 3, 2006 help have just brought a mocal 13 row oil cooler and kit but dont now how to install it as no no instructions were present.Have a corrado vr6 and i assumed that the fitting kit connects to the oil filter some how but cant see how as it has a large plastic cover over the filter.any help would be fantastic Link to post Share on other sites
Radostormvr6 2 Posted September 3, 2006 Report Share Posted September 3, 2006 You need to fit the sandwich plate on top of the OE water/oil heat exchanger,its next to the oil filter and you should have a longer thread bolt and new end cap.You can get the cap & thread tube from Stealth Link to post Share on other sites

mk3anni 0 Posted September 3, 2006 Report Share Posted September 3, 2006 Errr, no.The best thing to do is remove the crappy heat exchanger and run just the oil cooler on its own. Otherwise your making more work for the cooler.Mine runs with a sandwich plate that opens at 86 degrees. Link to post Share on other sites

mk3anni 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Report Share Posted September 4, 2006 Yeah which is fine until the water hits high temps and drags the oil temp up, which is crap.If you ditch the the heat exchanger and use a thermostatic take off you will find the oil warms up quicker anyway....at least I did.Also the heat exchangers are known for failing, remove it and you remove a point of failure.
