jims13 6
on m e wifes vectra 2.5v6 i fitted a 4 bar pressure reg from a golf turbo. question is would this work on the vr6 and if not why not, and if so what sort of gains ???? i no this may sound silly, but thought why not, could be a cheap mod , and gain some all important torque.!!!!jim
Eat this 2
yes its a popular mod on its own itl probably just bugger the fuelling up due to overfuelling but iirc on big power vrs its recomended for the extra fuelling
jims13 6
so not reccomended for cars with say just a airfilter , zorst and 6 branch ??
6potmkII 0
if its from a mk4 1.8T its a 3 bar i think.vr's with chargers runnin 240bhp+ need the 4 bar, so id doubt youl need it for just breathing mods tbhthen again, corrados run 4 bar pressure as standard and there quoted under 200bhp standard so might be worth a tri... Eat this 2
i beleive the inlet manifold is the reason the 2.9 is qouted higher bhp it flows beter at high revs
jims13 6
well, its deffo a bosch 4 bar reg from a golf, and it did work on me wifes veccy , so i may give it a try, it is dead easy to get to , unlike the vectra. ill book 2 power runs up and do a b4 and after.ill report back when ts done.jim
mk3anni 0
Golf turbo is 4bar. I have one sitting here out of one.Yeah its worth doing
Luke 0
if u pull the pipe off the standard pressure reg & blank the pipe off wiv a screw on a vr it will run around 4 bar pressure(not sure how true this is) ne1 ever herd of this? courtney tunning told 1 of my mates whos got a vauxhall that it works! :-*
mk3anni 0
Courtney who specialise in Vauxhall told your mate how to change the Fuel pressure on a VR. Thats likely isn't it.If this did work I think Vince would do that instead of modifying the 3bar one with a hammer an punch.TBH it sounds like absolute Bull Shit but i'm happy to be proved wrong. FishWick 21
Higher pressure = finer spray but will need a remap to suit as to not swamp the engine. Aswell as a 4 bar regulator, corrados also got a 4 bar pump. There's nothing wrong with increasing pressure so long as you know what you're doing. It's a crude way of fuelling, but schimmel has run up to 20 psi with VR6 turbos with stock ECU, injectors and MAF and a high pressure pump / rising rate regulator, so it is possible to improve performance 'off chip', but it's not the best way. If Normally aspirated, don't fix what isn't broken.
