4 bar pressure reg

Recommended Posts

on m e wifes vectra 2.5v6 i fitted a 4 bar pressure reg from a golf turbo. question is would this work on the vr6 and if not why not, and if so what sort of gains ???? i no this may sound silly, but thought why not, could be a cheap mod , and gain some all important torque.!!!!

if u pull the pipe off the standard pressure reg & blank the pipe off wiv a screw on a vr it will run around 4 bar pressure(not sure how true this is) ne1 ever herd of this? courtney tunning told 1 of my mates whos got a vauxhall that it works! :-*

Courtney who specialise in Vauxhall told your mate how to change the Fuel pressure on a VR.

Thats likely isn't it.

If this did work I think Vince would do that instead of modifying the 3bar one with a hammer an punch.

TBH it sounds like absolute Bull Shit but i'm happy to be proved wrong.

Higher pressure = finer spray but will need a remap to suit as to not swamp the engine. Aswell as a 4 bar regulator, corrados also got a 4 bar pump.

There's nothing wrong with increasing pressure so long as you know what you're doing. It's a crude way of fuelling, but schimmel has run up to 20 psi with VR6 turbos with stock ECU, injectors and MAF and a high pressure pump / rising rate regulator, so it is possible to improve performance 'off chip', but it's not the best way. If Normally aspirated, don't fix what isn't broken.
