Eat this 2
72 on my clock which is pretty long gearing too long imo
antera309 3
4000RPM is almost dead-on 100mph in 5th, so 3000RPM at 70-75 sounds about right. The VR6 engine could quite easily maintain 70mph at a more relaxed 2500RPM though, and some people have fitted an overdrive 6th gear to do this. The kit's expensive though.
mk3anni 0
Interesting.I thought my 6th was longer than the stock 5th but at 4k i'm doing fractionly over 100, so I guess my 6th is the same as everyone elses 5th.

matth76 1
70-75mph at 3000revs is normal. In fact the VR revs quite low for speed compared to average cars.
antera309 3
I looked at the specs for the Quaife 6-speed conversion while at Stealth this week. 1st & 2nd are longer, 3 , 4 & 5 are shorter with 6th being just fractionally longer than the original 5th. mk3anni 0
Yup, sounds like mine, 4th tops out just over 100, maybe a little more, 5th at about 130 and 6th goes off the clock......officer.

mk3anni 0
Should never assume!!Makes an ass out of you From memory i only drop 1500-2000 rpm between gears. i cant remember which gear has which gap tbh.
