Desire68 0
Just to change the subject,do any of you guy's ride as well as drive?? My reason for asking is that i do(Yamaha R6) and i've been wanting to get out on it for the last couple of weeks but the weather has been crap and i don't want to take the risk of dropping it now and not having it for the summer. Just thought i'd ask!!
jcorallo 0
Soon mate - very soon. I treated myself to a week off work to get my full bike license (in April this year). So I'm hoping to get one for this Summer....Now I'm torn between the nice reliable (boring?) vfr800 vtec, and the Duke 748 or bigger - which I just love the look of!!Decisions decisions...Jules
Desire68 0
Jules,I did my direct access this summer too and went straight on to an R6 the next day!You just have to respect them and ride safely, can't wait till the dry days come back!!
ninja 0
Yup-I've been riding over 20 years-longer than I've been driving.Currently have a ZX9R and an RD350LC which I'm in the process of restoring.I don't go out to much in winter only if it's fine and dry and then make sure the bikes well cleaned straight away-Salt is a real killer. jcorallo 0
sorry - I know I'm not called Mike but....I did my training up North in Blackburn - top bunch of people - really enjoyed my week there!http://www.wpm-training.co.uk/As I'm over 21 and previously experienced on bikes (trials and crossers) I was OK to do the 4 day direct access which leads to a full license.Heres how it went:Two weeks prior to the training, took the Bike Theory Tests.Monday - Basic Motorcycle Care followed by the 125's in the afternoon doing the CBT (must pass) - around cones and stuff, bike control.Tuesday - out on the road on the 125's all day.Wednesday - out on the road on the 500's (!!!!) - mock exams - lots of routesThursday - mock exams - tidying up etcFriday morning - THE TEST!! - by 12:00 I was walking out the test centre with my copy of Ride Magazine (a pass certificate) and a sodding great GRIN on my face!!! amazed - no minor faults at all!! Cool!!Cost me about £300 all in. The bike hire was included in that price as was the test fee. Also the centre lent me a helmet and gloves etc.Gotta do it mate!Jules

pete8tch 0
yep guys me as well , got a k2 gixxer 1000 bloody scary when u have a break from it,get really bad cabin fever over the winter.r6 are really good dont recommend the ducati route though the running costs are high and a good 600 4cyl is better at everything nowadays exept handling but if your new dont push it for a while
dub_weiser 0
Been wanting to do mine for a while now and nearly did this summer. Will have to make sure I get round to it before the summer is out. Bloody nephew's gone out and got a Aprilla 125 and he's only 16 (its restricted) to make matters worse!
