Craig 0
Hi,A friend has just sent me a text message. Someone he works with has a VR6. The chap drove it to work with no problems this morning. However, it has now decided it no longer wishes to work. From the message:"it has just died in the car park. Ignition comes on ok but turning the key to start does nothing. No noises etc at all. Do you know of any common issues that could cause this?"Any help will be gratefully passed back. SankysVR6 1
I reckon the earth strap has come of the starter motor.
Guest Nosius
Hi, just had exactly the same problem and it was starter motor. Electrics okay in car but some evenings after work no joy from under the bonnet. Others no problem at all. Intermittent so thought it was wiring / contact issue. Sounds very similar. I know it is probably not battery as I recently replaced it.
dellert 0
That sounds like worn contacts in the motor, or maybe a sticky solenoid, if you can hear it clicking when you try and start it.
