VR6Pete 1,455
I've just realised that the filter element in the BMC's are washable! With over 3 years of dirt and grime in the element I removed the filter element from the carbon canaster case and I gave it a bash in the sink and literally a pile of crud came out. I then washed some warm water through it and more crud came out, I then left it to soak in some warm soapy water and then swirled the air filter element about in the sink the water was black at this stage. I then ran more warm water through the element taking care to to remove all soap suds and dryed it off with my hair dryer (low setting) (yes, I am male and own a hair dryer!) I then gave it a bang against the palm of my hand and to my suprise, more dust and rements of dead fly's and leaves fell out, once no more crud fell out, put it all together and stick it back on the car and...ENJOY! The car now sounds a little more grunty and has regained it's roar which had faded away over time.. Obvously I cant take it over 3,000 RPM with running it in, but I can already feel the differance a good clean can make.Give it a go, what have you got to loose?Pete
VR6_Absy 0
I've been thinking about doing mine for some time but just haven't got around to it. I don't personally own a hair drier, will have to borrow the missus ;-) Do you recommend fairy liquid to creat the bubbles ;-) lmao
