mk3anni 0
Wont make a blind bit of difference on an N/A car.
clarkie 1
how much does it make on a forced inducion car then?
Eat this 2
i think its designed to cool the air going in to the engine to prevent pinking and detonation iv just got back from fetching mine i think il attempt to fit it at the weekend it looks reasonably simple to do
mk3anni 0
Makes no real power difference on a supercharged car. Just wards off detonation. Its more of a belt and braces preventative measure, its not there to give you a power gain. Howver, the uprated fuel pump i had fitted made the car a lot more responsive and gave me some top end. FishWick 21
Water injection can make a nice difference to any engine if it's mapped to take advantage of it's effect.I know Vince doesn't alter the map for water at all as he prefers to send customers away with a 'real world' map. However, things have moved on from the early days of water injection. With Aquamist 1s and accompanying DDS3 guage, you know exactly how much water is going in and when the supplied float sender detects no water, it switches off the water injection to protect the pump and it can also trigger a second map (if you're standalone) with less advance automatically. It can even run a seperate low pressure pump for intercooler water spray too!! It's clever sh1t. H20 injection is reliable enough now (Providing you use Aquamist - it's the best by a million miles) to have a dedicated map, in my humble one ;-)
mk3anni 0
Had my Cooling mist kit fitted last weekend, and I couldnt' tell the difference with it on or off in honesty, but then again, my cars not mapped for it and I don't think i'd want it to be, I'd rather have it there as a saftey thing as opposed to something I have to rely on. ingham 5
water injection should let you run more ingtion advance for more power...
mk3anni 0
Yeah it should, but once you run out of water then what?!
FishWick 21
Make sure you don't run out of water ;-)You don't conciously let the petrol tank run out, so why allow the washer tank to run out? Takes 3 seconds to top it up!
binliner 0
If you're going to advance the timing then fit some sort of water level warning light3 seconds is really quick do you have a pit crew or something?
Eat this 2
the kit iv got comes with 2 leds 1 to tell you when the systems on the other is a low water level light all you need to do is fit the float 1/4-1/3rd of the way from the bottom of the tank thatl give you plenty of time to top it up
binliner 0
Are you having yours remapped then?
Eat this 2
im having the car remapped at stealth because of the 12 psi charger il see how it goes and what vince says
jaysVR6 2
lolWhat you finding funny Jay???Ok Mr defensive, I was actually laughing at the original post and the fact that some people want to waste their money on such insignificant modifications. Fair play if they want to do that but I just find the idea of adding water injection to a normally aspirated car pointless.
mk3anni 0
Quite agree!!!!!
Eat this 2
the manifold pressure switch is conected to a t piece of pipe where does it go??where do you guys put the pump itself?where do you put the relay end of the loom?
Eat this 2
anybody? im stuck
mk3anni 0
LOLDidn't connect a manifold pressure switch, took a feed off the pipe to the recirc valve.Tim made custom mounts up for my pump. I would post up pics for you showing you exactly how to do it, but apparrently I'm a cunt and therefore I dont feel inclined!

binliner 0
i think il attempt to fit it at the weekend it looks reasonably simple to do famous last words? the manifold pressure switch is conected to a t piece of pipe where does it go??where do you guys put the pump itself?where do you put the relay end of the loom?iirc my pressure switch was connected to the servo pipeI had a bracket made to fit mine...it all depends where your water bottle is as the pump should be lowerMy relay was screwed to the bulk head
mk3anni 0
i think il attempt to fit it at the weekend it looks reasonably simple to do famous last words? I was thinking the same.I made a simlar assumption, then realised i didnt have the abilities!!!
binliner 0
yeah me too... I'd at least managed to work out where to put the pump though, just wiring things up isnt my strong point to say the least!
