badboyV6 4
good fun although handling isnt the best. My friend had one after a mint mk2 16 valve - wrote it off in 2 hours... doh. Something to do with the front suspension being mounted on rubbers.Still quick though - dublokes brother had a mental modded one. Another guy i know has one that will be running 220 bhp hopefully when finished.
badboyV6 4
also i dont think they are worth a lot id std. Depends what condition your mk1 is in really..
VR40 0
Joel if you want to know anything about G40's i'm your man. currently on my 3rd black one. Love them to bits, mine was one of the fastest(if not the fastest) in Britain a few years back, just shy of 200bhp and still running a G40 charger. To say they are fun is an understatement mate!Greg (VR40 - VR6- G40! lol)
VR40 0
and yes only 500 were shipped over here in right hand drive format. Registered between 1990 and 1994 although there were two 1998 's' plates and a 1999 't' plate registered late. The G40 owners club contacted the DVLA last year and found that just over 250 were left registered on our roads..these little beasts are become scarce!!

petervr6 0
ye i would say also depends on the condition of the mk1 if the mk1 isnt mint then i would prob do the swap depending on the condition of the g40saying that i dont think i have ever seen a rough g40
VR40 0
The Polo will definately be a lot faster, they top out about 130mph which is quick enough in standard form, but I doubt the one you've been offered is standard as they all seem to be modified in some way or another nowadays. £500 will easily get you 140bhp from a g40!
