vr6madmike 0
I expect this has been done before, just wanted your guys opinion about an OBD2 Golf 2.8 vs a Corrado 2.9, which do u rekkon wud come out on top if at all??!Mate of mine has a Corrado and we always have a bit of banta between us! Been pretty even so far on the road but I think he gives it death slightly more than im willing too!
tubby 0
Personally in my opinion only. I think it would be all down to weight difference if there is any but the corrado should win every time maybe not by much but a win overall nevertheless.virgin
Eat this 2
corrado is actually 50kg heavier than a golf but has more power my modded golf is for all intents and purposes isentical to my mates modded rado
tubby 0
My conclusion is based on two stamdard cars and remember 50kg is only a small child in weight.virgin
vr6madmike 0
The corrado driver is really nice guy with a trim figure!
Eat this 2
i have read the corrado has a 6.2 sec 0-60 (possibly usa)
mike 6
nah its about 6.7the rado is more airo dynamic and better handling/chasisraddo its better, prefer looks of golf tho...more modern
vr6madmike 0
Is it lighter than the golf?
Eat this 2
book weight for golf vr is 1155 kg 1210 for rado vr
Riggsvr6-again 0
Ive been up against a Rado all the way to 150( private road ) And tbh they are pretty evenly matched on the open road
Earwig 89
Don't forget that an OBD2 golf has (Apparently) got the same power as a 2.9 Corrado. Add that to the fact that the golf is around 50kg or so lighter they should be pretty evenly matched.I doubt there would be much in it.....Mark.
Jimjon 28
I'd back the corrado as i have one.It actually has handling
andy 0
I've had both now. Both good cars. Golf for practicality and build quality, it really does fell much better screwed together on the inside. Corrado for driving, all the way, somehow the 2.9 feels much more potent than the 2.8. Handling is much better, must be the lower centre of gravity. Looks are subjective but the Corrado turns heads whereas people just see another Golf., its different and sleek. I miss the practicality of the Golf but love the presence of the Corrado.
Focker-out 0
Ive owned both and ran a slightly modded VR6 storm for 3 months while my car was in for painting, and i much preferred my golf, as it actually has a build quality, something which for being a VW the corrado sadly misses!!My OBD2 Golf consistently makes over 190 brake on the RR, and its a well used high mile car, i wouldnt like to think there is much in it on the road!!It would be interesting to see an identically matched i.e suspension wheels tyres etc Corrado and golf ran back to back, as my last Golf was a fantastic handling car, and lets face it once a Golf has its suspension changed its more than able to hold its own against a similar spec Corrado
vr6madmike 0
Well we have found out now, the Corrado has just a very slight edge at higher speeds ( more sleek) but from a standing start to the rev limiter its dead even, its just a case of who holds their gear longer! BENNYVR6 0
yes we did find out the other night... was fairly uneven all the wasy to 100.. i was pulling on ya .. started behind, pulled level, and then pulled away.. not by much though.. was fun two vr6 on full power. and cant believ you called me a fat git!!!! Focker-out 0
What you guys may notice, well i did when i was "testing" my corrado with my mates golf is that the corrado has a higer rev limit therefore holds each gear for longer
