stuey 0
Hi guys, i have got some 7.5x17" (ET32) Audi six spoke rims for my car recently with Falken tyres. They were a very good price, but to be honest i'm not keen on the stretched look. The Falkens are pretty narrow (205/40/17) and i can't get used to them this way. I would either like to swap them for another brand that will give me a squarer sidewall, or poss go for 215/40/17 instead. My car is only lowered 25mm as it needs to be practical so i'm not too worried about rubbing. I found a pic in an old Golf+ mag of a car on TT Comps with Yoko A539's that look pretty square, anyone else got some ideas they can suggest? Thanks
h3lter 0
surly if you want square look you just go for 215 like you said, i just got my kuhmo spt 205/40/16's that are going on my 16's (same 7.5 tho) and they are gonna look slightly stretchedsayin that dubmeister told me to have 195's, i could just imagine them popping off the rim at first corner lol
binliner 0
I dont think 205/40/17 on a 7.5 is what Id call stretched but if you're not lowered much go for 215'sI'm planning on 195/40/17 on my competitions if I can find them at a reasonable price
mk3anni 0
205's look slightly stretched on 7.5rims, although when I had Yoko's on my 7.5's there was no stretch. They might be your answer. As justin said, fi your not low then go for 215's.
crish72 0
Toyo's give good coverage, you even get a bit of rim protection with 205's.Chris

stuey 0
Thanks for the replys guys, when i say stretched i don't mean in an extreme way. The Falkens seem quite narrow compared to say my old Toyos on the treaded area. The sidewalls taper more so they look more stretched than the Toyos would on the same width of wheel. They would be ideal for someone running 17"s with arch clearance issues imo. To be honest looking at the fronts again i don't know if i could get away with a 215 or a very square sidewall. Perhaps i will compare my tyres to a Toyo and a Yokohama and see how i stand.
Ciaran 4
i have goodyear eagle F1's on my car 205/40/ 17 and my rims are 7.5 wide look fine and are awesome tyres
stuey 0
I got some Yokohamas today, just what i was after. Much squarer sidewalls and no rubbing issues so far, shame my clutch pedal hit the floor on the North Circular cos of a broken white clip :@ Really enjoyed my 4 1/2 hr mission to get home with a psycho recovery driver that has no sense of direction!
