c4mbl 1
I was outside the car standing at the engine with the bonnet open, and my dad started the car up. With the keys at the stage before the engine fires up, i heard a kind of buzzing noise coming from the rear(nearest bulkhead) of the engine. It stays on for approx 20secs then "clicks" off.It might have always done this, but from inside the car with the bonnet you cannot hear it normally.Any ideas?? *-) Cheers guys. SankysVR6 1
If it's buzzing for 20 seconds it will be most likley the TB re-setting. But i don't think it sholud do it all the time it's ushally only when battery has been diconected.sanky
h3lter 0
once mine has been running and i been out and about, if you open up the bonnet you can hear a buzzing back right of engine bay, is that the same thing? also the fuel pump makes a racket now and again, is that normal 2? shail 0
once mine has been running and i been out and about' date=' if you open up the bonnet you can hear a buzzing back right of engine bay, is that the same thing? also the fuel pump makes a racket now and again, is that normal 2?[/quote']That's not the throttle body. What you are describing is the auxillaty water pump which stays on for a while after you switch the car off to circulate the coolant round a bit more. Mine has always made a noise, not sure if they are supposed to be silent.
dellert 0
Brand new ones are silent, all you can hear is the water splashing if you listen really carefully! Mine always makes a buzz when I turn the key to ignition, without starting, only lasts a couple of seconds though.
