Jk* 0
It may have gone into safety mode in order to stop damage to other parts of the car. Just a thought.

matth76 1
Best bet Mark is to get it on Vag-Com. A specialist will (should) do this for free. Vag-com will scan your car for any sensor faults. If that doesn't solve it a rolling road session (£50 at Stealth Racing) will check your fuelling and timing is correct. Vag-com may not show up a faulty MAF sensor... It could be something to do with your leads or plugs. Good luck mate. Let us know how you get on and what the cause is. mk3anni 0
Matt do you ever suggest anything except take it to stealth or the phirm????It sounds like it could be the crank poision sensor, which could also not show up on vagcom. Doesnt sound like a MAF to me at all.Where are you, some of us on here have VAGCOM, if your local someone might plug a laptop in for you for a beer.
ihpj 0
If yer local to Milton Keynes I have the latest version of VAG-COM ... give me a PM and we'll sort something out.
Jk* 0
There is no safety mode.Does any of the VR6's have it? I was told by someone that they have a thing called a safety mode?! :$
Chrisdut 0
it might have a thing called limp home mode but aint sure,if its still missing when you rev it, disconnect the AFM and see if it improves, works on the later models ie mk4 etc, also could be leadshope this helps
