Pittuf 0
What trolly jacks have people got?Now my car is lowered at the back as well as the front I I can't get my std Halfrauds 2 tonne jack under the car at the front. And I aint't gonna be using the VW wind up jack unless I really have to!
tandino 1
Two blocks of wood should do it....
acf8181 0
or get a mate to lift the car a tad

jamieVR6 0
I've got an halfords one too, it takes two people to use it. One to lift the car from one of the arches & the other to position the jack. Can't get the VW one to locate on the sills properly now & it's only lowered 40mm.
VRmonster 1
either go for a little but of wood under the wheel, or go to your local machine mart and get the lowest one they do, mine fits in pretty well. with space, and my car is roughly 80mm i think. anyway. would just use wood to save cash, ha ha. tommy 0
I still use my standard vw jack just to lift the car a few mm so my trolly jack can fit under the car with a rubber pad on it so as not to damage anything or like the others say a block of wood does the trick
DundeeDub 0
I still use my standard vw jack just to lift the car a few mm so my trolly jack can fit under the car Same with me except its more than a few mm for me
Guest Olly_K
yeah ive been wondering this one for ages. I usually get my dad to break his back lifting the car while i position the jack, but i was thinking what happens when you actually get a puncture on the road and your on your own ?Its even harder for me as my SWG side skirts cover the lip where the standard jack would go. i think i'm gonna have to cut little bits out of the skirt from underneath
Pittuf 0
Well, I used the block of wood method today and it worked a treat, however Olly's point is valid.I did try and use the VW jack from the boot but it didn't look like it was gonna work too well so I didn't go much further with it. Also its a bitch to get out at the moment because i've put a disc changer in and not cut the carpet yet!
nickbee 1
This comes too late, but be careful if you're getting someone to lift the arch to get the jack under - it's pretty easy to put a crease in the panel.
binliner 0
I take the front splitter off and put the jack under the front... and for the back I reverse it up the low kerb outside my flat!
