HazelVR6 0
Could somebody please help with this problem. I replaced the drivers side electric window motor and regulator. Everything is working great except the one touch closing has stopped working. It goes down with one touch but not back up - you have to keep your finger on the button. I remember reading somwhere that they need reprogramming if they are disconnected. How do I do this? Cheers guys.
Chrisdut 0
put the window right to the top then release the button, then push the up direction again and hold until you hear the motor click as it release's and job's doneeasy as that

nickvr 0
mine only one touches down not up thats on all 4 windows
garfy 0
Mine one touches up and down on the fronts and only down on the rears, maybe it's in the motor and/or the regulator. Do the two look the same but have different pat no's, perhaps?
HazelVR6 0
The replacement was identical including part numbers. Spoke to the local stealer and he said it was a quite common problem when replacing motors. He said the car needs to be plugged in and reset. I am not quite sure I need to spend 50 quid to sort the problem.
rodney 17
Sorry just in case I am reading this wrong.....the VAGCOM needs to be plugged in and reset? Just to change a window motor???
Chrisdut 0
nah no need for diagnostic work, shold be able to do this easily
SankysVR6 1
If Your car has the full closure with the alarm check that is working fine. And also if you open the car with the key and hold it there, all the window's and sunroof should open. And all sholud close when you lock the doors. Is all that working.
HazelVR6 0
If I close the door and hold the key everything closes. I don't think it should need to be plugged in to sort this out; it just goes to show that the dealer is more than happy to charge for something that does not need doing. I spoke to my local VW independent and he said he had a few cars with similar problems after disconnecting power to the motor.
SankysVR6 1
Try this.Turn the key to unlock the car and hold it there until all the windows and suroof open. Don't take the key and lock the doors and hold it until all the windows and sunroof close. Then try the window switch for the touch to go down and up.There was some info on this on another forum, i'll try and dig it out for you. adam_christie 0
I take it you need a full closure alarm for the "all windows and sunroof open/closed" trick? Need to get me one of these!
SankysVR6 1
You can do the open/close all windows with the key in the door lock. I think this feature is standard fit.
adam_christie 0
Ok.....tried the open trick with the key and it works, however the close trick doesn't!!

adam_christie 0
Well I tried closing all the windows from the PASSENGER side and they all did! I think I know the problem now, there's more than likely a switch in the drivers door that's fecked I think, plus the lock on the drivers side is fairly stiff, so I'm thinking I'll need to whip the door card off and have a butchers.....
