GVK 1 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Share Posted November 29, 2006 Ecu needs to be matched to the immobiliser/transponder/ignition key else it won't start, so ideally you need all the bits from the same donor car.If you're REALLY lucky, (like me) the donor car's ignition key will be the same cut as the car you're OBD IIing.. lol!We used a 95 Passat for the bits and my car is an old '91 mk2, the keys were the same bloody cut, couldn't believe it.
