VR6_Absy 0
I've been running an unwrapped Raceland 6 branch for about 3 months and found that when cold the car would run well but after it reached running temp it didn't feel right. Does that make sense :^)Last night i finished wrapping the 6 branch with DEI wrap and fitted it. After the smoke had cleared from the water vapour (from the damp wrap) and fumes i took it out for a spin. All I gotta say is if you haven't wrapped your 6 branch, DO IT . My car now sounds even sweeter, it seems more responsive, a lot less heat in the engine bay and it generally seems a smoother drive. The wraps not cheap, it's a ball ache of a job but in my opinion it's definetely seems worth it :-d
katconcarne 0
did you have your standard heat shield on before you heat wrapped it? i decided not to heat wrap my raceland manifold as i was worried about it cracking.
VR6_Absy 0
Yep heat shield was on before and now after wrapping. I haven't heard of anybodies cracking :S I still need to order at least the front engine mount and possibly gearbox
Eat this 2
mine has a knakered gasket caused by the throttle snapping shut repeatedly ( 267 lb ft REALLY rags the mounts etc) didnt crack the actual manifold (dont think so anyway)iv heard of a cpl going but thats down to dodgy engine mounts
