SHARKY 0
Hi Guys/ Galls...I've been thinking about changing my broadband provider and was wondering which provider you's are with and if you have problems?I'm looking at going to Orange Unlimited broadband cos its £20 per month but it boasts free national and international calls 24/7... Need to save some cash for mods...... I've read a few review sites and the consensus seems to be its crap. I don't want to get on the phone to them or go to an Orange shop as they'll say its excellent (as they would!).I thought i'd ask on here if there's any Orange b/band users and their opinions...If not, what are you using and what do ya think of the service...??Cheers...Paul

crish72 0
Same here, was with Wanadoo and now Orange. Probably been with them for 3-4 years amd never had a problem. Only thing i find annoying is if you sign up for the free Landline calls package then to get them they give you a new landline number :S ,so you end up with your usual BT Number and then another one from Orange...Chris
poultonjoe 0
Im on BT homehub...£22 quid a month for 8mb broadband and free evening and weekend calls through my hub phone which is pretty cool. You also get a load of openzone minutes but i wont be using those.BT is also great cause you now get an all in one bill which is just less hassle Joe
SHARKY 0
Hi guys...Thanx for the info so far - keep the comments coming...I'm currently on BT broadband and have never lost my connection. It's fantastic service, I just want to try to save some cash.If my calculations are right I'll be saving about £30 - £40 a month on call if the Orange service is worth it. I'll have some cash in the pocket for mods....I'm wondering if the service is linked with your location. So guys, keep the comments coming as this info is (hopefully) going to give me a good honest idea of how the services compare. I don't really trust these internet comparison sites as some of them are sponsored by the better reviewed providers...Thanx again guys and keep the info coming.....
VR6Pete 1,455
I've just signed up with Nildram, eventhough I qualify for free orange broadband - does that tell you what I think of Orange? 8MB for 25.99, but my company will be paying for that Used to be on fast24, but they went bankcrupt! stick to mainstream providers only.more info @ http://www.thinkbroadband.com/Pete
matth76 1
I'm on AOL which has 2mb for around £18 which is plenty fast enough and more importantly unlimited download limit. One thing to consider is that many ISP's will only advertise the "maximum" speed, such as 8MB. However depending on your location this drops quite a lot lower - if you ever download a file from the internet you can see a download rate. AOL tends to be pretty robust and stays at max level all the time. However the only downside with AOL is you can't use Outlook Express because they use different settings to most other ISP's. I don't personally like their browser but just use the normal internet explorer browser. Their service is very good and the customer service is free on an 0800 number and you get to speak to people who understand what you are talking about, instead of leafing through a manual. A friend of mine was on Bulldog which advertised at least 8mb dropped to dialup speed!! Totally cr*p service too. I used to be on Tiscali too recently and had big problems with them. As above their customer service is atrocious and we found we couldn't email to certain areas, whereas other isp providers could - they eventually admitted it was because their servers weren't big enough to handle all its customers.
