c4mbl 1
if he has been mucking about under the bonnet, id check the plugs and leads just incase they have been knocked loose.But...When my coil pack went i had the same symptoms as you. was running really rough like it wasnt on all cylinders. matth76 1
Also make sure the alarm fitter has done the wiring all correct and not interfered with the ecu or coilpack in anyway (not sure if he should go near the ecu or not when fitting an alarm though). Does sound odd that the car was fine before and not after! First of I would get the alarm fitter or better still one of his colleagues to come out and check the car over to make sure that the wiring is all correct - simply say you are not 100% happy and that the car was fine before and now not afterwards - the alarm fitter said himself it didn't sound right afterwards. They will check the electrics are all correct. They SHOULD do this all for free.If this turns up nothing I'd get the car checked over by a vr6 specialist like the phirm or stealth if you are near either - and if a problem is found relating to what the alarm fitter did or caused take this evidence back to the alarm fitter and try to get a refund of some sort.
