Focker-out 0
Never good to hear something like this mate!!If its any consolation i binned my Ibiza Cupra years back and it was insured as a standard car, but had exhaust, remap, ind kit and was low as hell, they never even mentioned any of the above and i got it back all fixed up with no hassle at all.Hope the sme goes for you
purple highline monster 0
That's a shame Luke. It was looking good.P.s. Can I call first dibs on your two good wheels ;-)Your all heart Goth! sorry to hear about you bump Luke, i doubt the insurance company assesor will bother too much about what colour you shocks are or the rims or exhaust come to that, just dont mention it and plead ignorance if they do, it dont make any odds to them as an alloy is an alloy in there eyes, they are more interested if you have an obviously defective tyre etc etc, just make sure you declare your mods when its fixed/replaced +o(
Russ_vr6 12
sorry 2 hear that mate really am
matth76 1
I almost lost my vr yesterday going about 10mph round a tight roundabout. It all of a sudden understeered and the body swivelled a bit. If I had turned the steering wheel much more the back end would have come out, as it did a few months back. The road was only damp. Sorry to hear what happened and what an F'ing hassle!! Not what you need. See if you can get it repaired - get a good body work garage to look at it and see what they reckon then claim on your insurance to get it repaired. They shouldn't need to look at it if you get it repaired on the insurance. If its a big wreck they they may not be able to tell it has a different exhaust (they won't know it has a decat). Good luck...let us know how you get on though! At least you're ok and even better no other car was involved!
Luke 0
Thanks for all the replys guys n girls Managed to get all my standard suspension back on yesterday & make it look like it was in the crash (6) mates come round to ave a look & couldnt believe how good i made it look(im defo going to hell when i die) So std suspension is back on,ramair off, nuber plates, lights etc but ive still got the decat & full ss milltec on :-( think im gonna put the cat back on & play ignorant about the exhaust! Was on the car when i bought it :^) Would they go as far as to try & find out what the last owner had done to it? Has enyone been in a situation like this before? My excess is £600 so not good before xmas!!!
tubby 0
You cannot play ignorant about the exhaust dude. You will have to try and get it off and standard one back on. Remember you insured the car they wont care if it was on it or not only that it`s not standard and you did`nt declare it.They are really strict and won`t budge an inch. One of the cars i had a few years ago broke down in the sticks not faer from where i live .When i got back to it in the morning it was burnt to a crisp. My insurance did not pay out because i had failed to mention i had insurance canncelled a few years previous so i never got a penny.Dont give them anything to complain about or you are fucked
SankysVR6 1
Sorry to hear this mate. But as for the exhaust i would just play ignorant, and pretend you know nothing about cars espically VR6's, and claim that you thought thats how thay came.
vr6highline28 0
sorry to hear about that mate - my ex used to work for churchill and basically if you have modded the car and not declared it they will put it back to standard factory spec - ie wont pay for a milltek but would replace with a vw similar original part - best way is to be totally honest with them - i even had to amend my policy as have 2 vw's and only a single garage so couldn't have both down as in the garage !! insurance companies are 2wats for payouts so be true with them !!! goonersteve 0
Sh*t mate, really sorry to hear bout this Luke I think most insurance companies would only use their best / most experienced assessors for higher value cars. If you're lucky they'll use a less experienced assessor or may not even bother at all. Fingers crossed for ya buddy, hope it works out ok for ya.
