Luke 0 Posted December 19, 2006 Report Share Posted December 19, 2006 My mate Chris has the same engine in his mk4 1.8t gti golf & i sh*t all over him the thing to think about is how good the engine is to tune though,£400 revo takes them to almost 200bhp in an instant!I do also know theres a company now that can push 235bhp with remap,exhaust & filter,you would be very lucky to get that out of a vr Link to post Share on other sites

matth76 1 Posted December 20, 2006 Report Share Posted December 20, 2006 A mate at work has an S3 (the later 220bhp version) and it is pretty much even with my VR, which is only lightly modified. The S3 is good off the mark with its 4wd but due to it's much heavier weight (1375kgs compared to the VR's 1170kgs) it is pretty much even in the mid range. Therefore with the lower powered a3 1.8t a standard vr should beat it. I may be wrong but I think the a3 1.8t was two wheel drive. Link to post Share on other sites
