Is there any advantage of buying new ones? Do they have to be replaced everytime the head comes off? As you can probably tell I haven't started my engine rebuild yet as I have no idea what's going on. lol just a joke by the way, i do have some idea.Baz Link to post Share on other sites

6potmkII 0 Posted January 1, 2007 Report Share Posted January 1, 2007 yes as sed before they are stretch bolts do do not use old one. if im not mistaken, i think i heard that standard head bolts from vw are good for about 350bhp....also, you can use metal head gasket from 24v vr6 mk4 but if im not mistake it may raise the compression a little... some one may confirm this for u Link to post Share on other sites
