mk3anni 0
His CG125 isnt quite up to the standards of those!!!I used to ride, found the car was safer, warmer, and I didnt suffer so much pain when I crash.
purple highline monster 0
he he, mortuary cycles! donor whatever, cars are safer to be in, not saying car drivers are safer though! heres my favourite "bike"
Seademon 0
Nice bikes! Always like Ninjas - Steves not joking about me having a CG unfortunately! Im doing my test in March and fancy a Supermoto but worried it'll get nicked, I would love a sports bike but I dont think it'll be much good on my commute to London everyday - i think I could have more fun on the way to work with a KTM or something.I've been riding the CG since May last year & think that a bigger bike would actually be safer as you have the extra power to get yourself out of certain situations but that works both ways :-p I only bought the CG cos a bloke at work was selling it for £400 - sounded much better than the train everyday & is! Costs me £40 a month in petrol and I get about 250 miles to a tenner - once I started riding tho I got bitten by the bug of it - never really looked at bikes before that.A bike will only go as fast as you make it go but its the other drivers we have to worry about, I see some really crap driving every day! Loads of people on phones still - blokes reading papers and girls doing make up. I was at the lights next to Alan Sugar a few months ago which was funny, pulled up looked in and there he was in the back of his Rolls

rodney 17
Only advice I can give. If u r doing the comute thing get a sit up and beg not sports bike. (they are easier to balance at slower speeds) SV650 is a belter as a step up. Put a pipe on so you can be heard and better bulbs so you can be seen. Nothing wrong with the orange bikes just have to service em a lot. Motos are all about wheelies from the lights! Also a bit high for my short legs!If you have any motorway section after market bubble helps with the deflection of air and driving rain. BMW GS are good options as shaft drive and heated everything just costs a bit. I perfer twins as they generally have more torque low down which helps in the city ballet dance on your seat as you manouvre Good luck and remember they ARE ALL after you!!!!! sjrobertson1978 0
Yeah, i'm a biker. Although must say that i now think riding on the road is far to dangerous as there's too much traffic on the road. I'm also from aberdeenshire, and compared to the rest of the country the traffic up here is a lot quieter than down south, still to busy for a bike in my opinion. My mates have cut down on there road riding since i had a bad accident back on the 3rd june 2005.Got clipped by a car going the other way, but that was enough to smash my leg, wrist and shoulder. Had a big frame round my leg for 9 months, which was pleasant :-( Then in a full leg cast for 6 months, after that my leg got infected so had a bit of bone taken out that was infected and it was basically back to the start. Got another smaller frame on, skin grafts, muscle grafts, bone grafts, metal pin down the middle of my bone.Basically it's taken 10 operations and 21 months and i'm almost sorted. Hopefully a couple more months and i should be back to normal.I think a good solid fast car is the way to go for on road fun, keep the bike for track days. I'll be getting another bike in the future, but sure as hell won't be going on the road. Just keep it for the track. Still a chance hurting yourself on the track, but it's a limited risk enviroment, and there's nothing coming the other way :-d Bikes are fun and are a great way of beating the traffic, you've just got to be focused 110% all the time, and for me, after a hard weeks work coming home from work it's just asking for trouble. Keep it for the track or at least for the weekendTake it easy out there. And no speeding :-p lolHave a look at this link for some photos of me leg when it was in the frames and me bike. Some pics of me VR that i bought and smashed on the way home from buying it due to a deer lol. http://s161.photobucket.com/albums/t225/sjrobertson1978/Hopefully picking up another VR on saturday, as long as it's good once seen it and test driven it. Fingers crossed.Steve

Seademon 0
Cor nasty pics of the leg there mate! Was it the R6 that you came off of?Saying that bikes have no place on roads today is rubbish - The majority of accidents are caused by drivers not looking what they are doing (some by the bikers riding like loons & filtering) so its drivers that need educating to look for bikes before they just change lane without indicating or looking. If it wasn't for sh*t drivers i'd be getting a bike for going to work and for weekend thrashes. And like you say it is car drivers that need better education, but, realisticly, what are the chances of that happening? Pretty much no chance i'd say.Every biker I know or have spoke to have had really close encounters. To me a bike is for fun, to wring it's neck and to try and improve your riding skills, to get your knee down, and just having a great time. Don't get me wrong i'm no nutter on a bike, but if the road was clear i saw nothing wrong with giving it some whelly. I've lost good mates from accidents in the past that weren't there fault, I was always one of those guys that said it'd "never happen to me" lol.It can and it does happen to anyone. I'd love it if the goverment were to introduce some sort of thing to improve driver skills and awareness, but it just ain't gonna happen any time soon. And i for one will be staying clear of the roads and sticking to the tracks until something happens about it.Don't mean to come accross like i'm against riding on the road, it's just that when you've been through what i have you get a different perspective on it. There is nothing more i'd like than to get back on a bike on the road, just can't bring myself to do it.I guess what i'm really trying to say is, that if you've got a bike then don't go about with the mentality that it's never going to happen to you. All it takes is a second for it to go wrong. And if a car driver pulls out on you or cuts you up, don't be surprised about it, it's gonna happen and you've got to be ready for it. Go out there and have fun mate, but just be safe :-d :-d It was the R6 i was on, never got to see it afterwards but cops told me it was the worst mess bike they've seen and couldn't believe i was still alive lolHere to tell the taleSteve
J5KE F 0
Bikes on the road are bad news! I've had a few, in the end family life got me out of it, i just want to see my kids grow up and didn't want to take a chance like ridin a bike anmore!I've known a few bikers to have lost their lives in the time i was riding, and loads of bad accidents. fact is, bikes are easily missed by drivers and you got no protection, so that time you get hit, generally hurts.I sold my bike and bought my 1st vr! then had to get the same sort of thrill, cos its tru, there aint much like it, apart from a charged vr and 22lbs of nos in ya boot!! too hot 0
Yeah I admit bikes are dangerous, but that doesn`t stop me owning one. Thing is when and who do you stop training ?Do you restrict bikers, restrict bikes enforce more compulsory training, annual test whatever you try people are still going to get killed or seriously injured.Whether it be through thier own fault or the fault of someone else unfortunately accidents do happen and no amount of training is gonna stop that.Would the same become enforceable for car drivers, recently there has been a real spate of young drivers being killed in Scotland recently. If you drive or ride defensively and think that it IS going to happen to you then you will reduce your chances of having an accident.Take care and ride safely. dstyrrell 0
I always used to want one then people i know started dying on them and that quickly put me off, couple of mates of mine still have them and they worry me to be honest, i'm just pleased as even they are saying that the roads are just too dangerous for them now and they are gonna just use them as track bikes. There are only two sorts of motorcyclists ones that have have had serious accidents and those that havent had serious accidents YET.For those of you that have them may the force be with you !!Dave
