Ickyketseddie 89
Ok, on friday the vr was a little hesitant on the dual carriageway in fifth when i put my foot down a little.. the it seemed to clear up and was fine. Started it this mirning and it sounded like it was running on four cyls,, but then seemed ok when a little warmer. Went out in it tonight and it was running fine untill some 182 tried it on at the higher end of the rev range it stuggled popped and spluttered. Not really terribly i still managed to smoke him but its really not right not aall smooth..Any ideas, i'm thinking maybe something simple like plugs or leads. I was gonna have it serviced soon anyway.. although i was thinking maybe its the MAF on its way out.. i guess that'd explain it starting funny sometimes, and it reving itself when left at idle sometimes? Any help would be really appreciated.Ed
Russ_vr6 12
check ur coilpack (if urs isnt a early one mate) for any cracks coz it could be the pack playin up,could be a lead earthing out mate, reving itself could also be an air leak, check ur vac pipes for any splits or even if ones not on properly could cause a prob
Ickyketseddie 89
Thanks mate. Its the 2.9 corrado so its on a dizzy.. but going to have a look now.. will check for leaks!
Ickyketseddie 89
Right just been and had a look..started a little groggy, like it wasn't on all 6 again, but then quickly began to run smooth.. couldn't see or feel any leaks. Thought i heard a slight hissing but that stopped when i switched the engine off so was probably a belt or something.Really starting to think it may just be plug/leads. Noticed the leads are 'Champian' ones. Not exactly what i would normally go for.. Any recommendations from you guys? shall i jus get VAG ones or Magnacor if i replace em? VR6Fletch 0
If you are after leads and plugs try Clare (vdubgirl) £52 all in for Megas leads and NGKs delivered. Very good value and arrived very quick. Improved my VR but pretty sure the root of my misfires is the good ol coilpack
