Mr_GTI 0
Just want to know if this was ever fitted to any mk3 Golf VR6s either obd1 or 2 engined carsI'm sure I saw an advert for a vr with CC but can't remember now?
Eat this 2
i think you can buy the stalk from vw and maybe switch it on with vagcom but im not 100%
speed_freak 0
I did once see one of these kits on ebay so they must have done them but i would say very rare
Mr_GTI 0
well i've ordered all the stuff from VAG, you need the stalk and an additional piece of loom to plug into the fuse box. Only trouble is now another guy I've spoken to said you cant fit it to a vr because of the throttle body? Well I can't return the parts as they were all special order electrical items so I'll have to make it work some how!!
vr6madmike 0
Yeah pretty sure that you can only do it the way you are talking about on a mk4 as they are fly by wire, vr's are not.
binliner 0
I've got cc on my VR... I also know someone that has retro fitted it to his colour concept and said it was fairly straight forward

Eat this 2
stalks are 44 quid at my place any idea what else is needed? £44 isnt excessive
Focker-out 0
Look on german ebay, as the vr6 cc is done by a vacuum pump, and its more complicated than just plugging in wires as it was never available in the UK, or in right hand drive. The problem being the accelerator is held in plave by a valve when in operation, hence the vacuum system, BUT the problem being on a LHD car there will be plent of room for said valve/actuator as the pedal is nearly in the middle of the car.I have considered doing it but dont use the car near enough to justify the hassle
Mr_GTI 0
so whats all that stuff on the side of my throttle body then, I thought that is was that which would hold the throttle in postion as it looks like some kinda of motor? well VAG has cocked up an not ordered the loom so I have only managed to fit the stalk. sparkz 0
I paid £50 for my cruise control setup off a guy on ED38 and paid £15 for a mk3 stalk (off ebay.com) as the cc came off a passat (mk2 style stalk) Im gonna put it on my mk2 vr6 turbo! I will probably never use it but for the sake of £65 worth of kit, why not have it there just in case??
sparkz 0
Cruise control pics....
vr6madmike 0
Ouch that loks a little more complex than a stalk and some messing around with vag com!

Focker-out 0
Like i said far more complex than vag com a wiring loom!!The problem is that the MK3 runs a conventional cable rather than fly by wire throttle pedal

Eat this 2
any idea how much that lot is all in?
Mr_GTI 0
well another blow is that VAG can no longer get the kits so you cant get the loom any more - its all on back order from germany. I give up, it was just a novel idea. I have cruise in my lorry and love it, use it all the time - just thought it would be nice to have in the car for long journeys etc. never mind, i'll just concentrate on saving for my 'charger
