Frazer 0
Apologies if this subject had been done in spades but the search engine is not working for me.. get 'authorisation required' message.Anyway - my aerial is looking rather shabby, rubbers ripped and spring a bit bent. Is this easily replaceable? How does it come off?Had the bright idea of fitting a BMW style shark fin aerial - does anyone know if these are available to fit a Golf? The BMW ones fit a curved roof whereas the golf is flat.
spindat45 0
The actual ariel unscrews. If you only want to change that just grip it tightly near the base and unscrew. You may need to use pliers. The actual base part that sits on the roof can only be removed from inside. Roof lining would need to come out to get at it. Not so sure about the BMW shark fin.Kevin
Seademon 0
I replaced the aerial rubber on mine last week - cost me just over £20 tho! Con! Gotta be done tho otherwise the water & stuff will start leaking in - dont think a shark fin would suit a Mk3 to be honest, best kept on saloons
Roan 0
Go to Maplin - Aerial, base and 4m cable for £4.99. Exactly the same as OEM.
