i want to put an oil catch tank in connected to the crankcase breather pipe, to remove all liquids from going back into my induction, now do i have to put that temp sensor back in or can i just get rid of all together? What does it do?? Also would it be better if i put a crank breather filter on as well? Will this higher/lower the octane at all?? any helps welcome

its not a temp sensor - its supposed to be a heater - to stop a plug of ice developing in that pipe in winter.

BUT I bet if you unplug it and peer into the connector in the 'heater' part you will see thats its a dummy - no parts what-so-ever - it does nothing.

I thought the throttle body being in circuit with the coolant system was supposedto stop fuel icing? But yeah, that sensor is a dummy one!

Anyone removed the heater pipes to the throttle body? Notice any difference?

The UK doesn't get cold enough for carb icing anymore, just wondering if it will help the 'cold air' cause or not.

kev - he's talking about the engine breather pipe....!

Also, about throttle body icing - doesnt air get cold as its sped up through the throttle body....?

yeah have heard phatvr6 talk about this... its a simple mod so might be worth trying for the summer anyway
