JohnP 0
I’ll be tackling my VR6 front end next weekend, once I’ve finished off the cossie this weekend. I’ll be installing Powerflex bushes on the wishbones, ball joints, wheel bearings, sway bar bushes etc. Look forward to your pictures if you get there before me.CheersJohn

Matt W 4
Front wishbones are dead easy. Just undo all the bolts necessary to get the wishbone out. Then place it in a vice or something and drill out the rubber bits (or you can burn it out but at your own risk!!!) Then once most of the rubber is out you should be able to knock the old bush out. Then get the new bush apply liberal amounts of copper grease as you'll regret it later when it sqweaks Then press in by hand, if it doesn't go all the way in by hand use the vice with some small block of wood to prevent and marking/damage.Once the bushes are in as they say to refit is a reversal of the removal proceedure. I would recomend replacing all the bolts as well just for peace of mind and i believe the 3 bolts and washer with nuts on the ball joint have to be renewed once removed any way as outlined by VW/Haynes.
