Hi there, have just brought a k plate mk3 vr6 and i have a strange prob everytime i fill up at the petrol station(which in a vr comes round soon enough! lol) If i squeeze the trigger normally it clicks as though the tank is full n stops filling up, i have to squeeze really gently and it takes forever, anyone else had this prob or know whats causing it?? cheers mart

I think the fuel input on the VR is quite small. The nozzles that most stations use squirt out to much fuel which fills the tube into the tank fo the car.

The splash back you get shuts off the pump......

Just have to find the right balance and also angle ;-)

Mark.

It's probably all to do with the fancy gubbins they have to put in the tanks to stop the fuel spilling out if the car turns over.

I think it's better to fill at a steady pace any way, that way you don't go stirring up all the cack at the bottom of the tank...

U mite have misunderstud me, I can only just touch the trigger or else it will cut out, takes about 10mins to put a tenners worth in but i have since thought about it, n i thought it could be the breather hose valve, so gonna check it out at the w/end as i gotta sort the rear wheel bearings as well, ...along with the electric window n sunroof, fuel filter, door handles, n gotta have the manifold off n check the followers n chain n tensioners, n few spots of rust on the bodywork......but then i did only pay 400squid :)

Hi guys just thought i'd update my post as i've cured the problem, The rear arch and area around the filler neck was completly covered in crap, i cleaned it all off n checked the breather hose at the top of the filler neck and it was packed with dirt so carefully scrapped it out and sprayed sum degreaser in and bingo i can now fill up at full speed at any angle.
