Littleal_84 0
I was driving down the a1 the other day and light smoky smell was present, pulled over and found that the aux belt was loose and that the broken part shown was in the engine bay. I am after anyone that knows what this part is? Does it come from the aux belt system? is it a simple job to do? Any help is greatful[lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1174742821_4807_FT0_24032007066.jpg][/lightbox][lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1174742821_4807_FT0_24032007065.jpg][/lightbox][lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1174742821_4807_FT0_a.jpg][/lightbox]

thegoth 5
That's what I thought from the photos. There is a thread some where which details how to losen the idler pulley: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?155363.post
Littleal_84 0
I dont think its the idle pully ( it might be though) it looks like the one below it
thegoth 5
It might not be! But you'll need to know how to loosen the belt to change which ever pully it is.
VR6_Absy 0
Looks like it's the tensioner only other that size is the alternator
Eat this 2
thats the tensioner and u need a new belt iv got a aircon belt u can have for nowt
cadguy77 0
defo the belt tensioner, you'll need to screw a bolt (can't recall the size) in to the hole at the top of the unit. I've never seen a tensioner pulley go like that. Have a look in the gruven group buy thread for a billet pulley, should last a hell of a lot longer http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?130417

speed_freak 0
I sent it to the garage they replaced it with an orignal belt tensioner but as i said when mine went i was lucky and didnt do the belt in but if you have been running yours with it like that i would order the belt tensioner and the new belt aswell so it dont break the belt avto you have done afew mile in it
