Want to put 215/45/17 Khans, lowering by 35mm with Boge Gas shocks, would this rub? dont want to alter any arches or mouldings,

Boge Suspension Kit from German n Swedish consists of Boge Springs 35mm drop and Gas Shocks,

Anyone tried the set up? good/bad?

Would this work?

put on the 7.5 by 17, front still sitting higher than rear, no rubbing at rear, but on full lock the front is locking, at the front part of arch,

so if I lowered would it get worse, or simply stay the same, and when i mean rubbing very slightly,

Looking at bilstein coilover with height n pressure adjust, cheapest im getting 960+VAT, is it worth it, are they cheaper kits just as good as bilstein, or should I get cheap BOGE suspension set up from German n Swedish?

vr6mal-is your suspension standard set-up now? if it is it may be that the rear shocks are trashed more than the fronts! i had this problem with mine when i lowered it! it sat lower at back then front, and when i lowered it by 60mm, it only went down 35 at the back from a measured height prior to lowering, indicating that it was already lower than it should be at the back! and the rear shocks that came off were totally fubar when tested!

Didn't want to start another thread off as mine is virtually the same topic!

Mine is on standard suspension and I'm getting exactly the same, less gap between the top of the wheel and the wheel arch at the rear than at the front.

Its a 1997, done 46K and I'm the suspension doesn't seem to have been touched since it rolled off the forecourt!

I was planning to go from the standard 205/50/15" BBS alloys to the VW 16" montreal II alloys and put 215/40's on (I have been told Toyo Proxes are excellent tyres and good value at approx £80 a corner).

I'm also planning to upgrade anti-roll bars front and rear as I find I gat a lot of rock and roll when pushing it at all.

I've seen loads of other threads on this topic and still not sure which bars to go for!

Was going to leave the poly bushes and lowering kit for now due to £££'s.

But now I have read about the difference in gap between the front and rear wheels to wheel arches I'm not so sure %-6

One of the things I was worried about if I changed the suspension would be the comfort of the ride - what are peoples experiances after lowering?

Any thoughts from anybody on any of the above will be gratefully received 8o)
