nivag27 5
Hello all, I'm lowering my vr tomorrow, I have got Gmax shocks and springs, the bump stops all round and new top mounts, wd40, spring compressors but I am bit of a novice so feel free to throw any tips my way. Cheers.
thegoth 5
Get the wd40 in the lower bolts now, to give it time to do it's stuff. There is a picture guide, albeit for fitting coilovers, on here somewhere. Shouldn't be too different for shocks and springs.
crish72 0
You doing it yourself or is someone giving you a hand? It'll be easier if you have someone to help you( mainly to put weight on the suspension arm when you remove the shock).Easy job though, after removing mine far too many times i can remove and fit all corners in about 1/1/2 hours now . :-| Chris

binliner 0
nowt wrong with Halfords, their pro range tools are excellent! If you havent got the special tool, an impact gun is handy for undoing the top nut
thegoth 5
I don't have anything against the store, in fact i do have a Halfords Pro torque wrench. It's just that the state of the cars parked outside my local branch always makes me want to cry.
crish72 0
If you havent got the special tool' date=' an impact gun is handy for undoing the top nut[/quote']Good point!! I found that a PITA to do as i never had an impact gun nor the right sized allen key & spanner(you can't get a standard spanner head in)Pop the bonnet and look at the strut mount, make sure you have something to hold the nut whilst having something to turn the allen bolt, if you don't then you cant start!Chris
nivag27 5
Ihave got an allen key and a spark plug spanner so it should work.
