Owen. 0
Hi all,As some of you may know i bought a VR6 the other week. So far i've ordered all the lights for the outside. I also have totally cleaned the underside of the car and lightly undersealed it. I'm going to get all the brackets, arms and other various attachments powder coated in the near future.I'm very close to buying an exhaust, just worried about the looks. I've been so close to buying the Milltek, however the pipes look a wee bit too small for such a bulky looking car? Has anyone got any pictures of the millteck or similar design?I'm also looking at alloys, the car isn't going to be used for driving fast, probably more shows. Is 18" alloys too big? Looking at the BBS LM wheels. Tried to find replicas but there doesn't seem to be any.The whole car has now been supaguarded, incukding the boot! I also have a complete box of the supaguard treatment, for the alloys, leather, carpet, dashboard and trims and vinyle coating. If anyone is interested in it let me know....Any advise on the above subjects would be great....ThanksOwen.
Jk* 0
Stick with 17" IMO mate.
mike 6
remus do a nice (bigger) twin exhaust mate, its deffo what id prefer to my current one.18s does make a mk3 look like a tractor, and i hear not the best for driving too. LM wil cost youy about 2 grand mate, i picked up some bbs Rc's for 5 times less '(used)
kalv 0
I got Scorpion on mine and they offer a few choices of tail pipe design [boxer, dtm, oval.. i think] which look great and sound great...18's might require arch work if you get the car lowered (which is a must).. so stick with 17's.. as above save your ££££ and get some RC's. matth76 1
I've got the milltek "twin-jet" exit exhaust. Looks perfect and looks the same size as the remus one on the pics earlier in this thread. The twin exit milltek really suits the vr in my opinion (any bigger would look silly - believe me I've seen some big twin exit exhausts and it spoils the cars looks). The milltek twin exit tips are about twice the size of the original piddly stock exhaust tips. They are also noticably bigger than audi S3 twin exit exhaust tips. The milltek sound is veeery nice. Quite a few people (in the know) have commented how nice my exhaust sounds. Doesn't drown out the v6 but makes it sound more like an aston martin howl than a chav saxo. Get one mate you won't be disappointed. Stealth Racing said the milltek was very good quality and fitted perfectly. Exhausts on the vr won't add much power by the way as the stock exhaust is very free flowing already but will make it look much better. What ever exhaust you get just make sure it doesnt hang too low. Needs to be nice and tight without touching the rear bumper and it will look pretty damn good mate.
