Eat this 2 Posted April 8, 2007 Report Share Posted April 8, 2007 mines suddenly running mega rich ie misfiring and black clouds out the back if u drive it normally ie low revs/throttle it seems ok but if i give it some it starts running terribly doesnt want to idle rough as hell when pulling off really smokeytheres also a noise that gets worse its a bit like a fan it gets worse with higher rpm and u can hear it from about 3k onwards i can only hear it in the cabin i cant hear it in the engine bay Link to post Share on other sites

rodney 17 Posted April 11, 2007 Report Share Posted April 11, 2007 A couple of things to check before you go too far down the line. on the side of your charger where the inlet (air) pipe connects check all the way down to the filter that you are securely connected and fastend all the way to the neck of each joint etc. The change in pressure will effect the operation of the charger and give similar effects! The closer to the charger the worse the effect and sound! Second is the MAF. Give it a clean! I am told break cleaner is good for this but have not tried it yet! You need to clean it every 2k to 5k or so depending on how your car runs; as it gets covered in oil from the breather pipes! This will make it run like a bag of spanners and can give those effects also!Hope it helps! Link to post Share on other sites

This will make it run like a bag of spanners and can give those effects also!Hope it helps!BINGO had it checked over by psi tuning tonight 3 things came to light1 the plugs r fooked gettin s2 plugs tomorow 2 the rocker cover gasket leaks 3 the damn pipe that goes from the charger to the tb was the main issue on light throttle it was fine but as rthe boost rises it comes away from the damn tb loltightened it up and its ok now but still lumpy when coming off the throttle and i think its down on power a bitim gonna get a leakdown test done next week let me know how the bottom end isthanks for the advice and pete i was only semi serious mate Link to post Share on other sites
