acf8181 0
well, how much is a rebuild gonna be? and a new engine will be £500-600.
Hiten 0
you're better off getting a re-build if u can afford it. if you get another used engine it might be worse than the one you already have.
28v6r 0
I'd heard that the 2.9 was a softer engine than the 2.8 and that the 2.8 wasn't prone to head problems like the 2.9 Dunno how true that was though...Curiously........where are you sited "Mad"???

madmonkee 0
see thing is guys, when it comes to me car, money isn't really an object. I was thinking of a new engine, 2.9 to start with, then at least i got new bottom end. I think if im gonna put 250bhp+ through a crank thats done 130k its not gonna last long at all. Even if its rebuilt the crank is still gonna have to come out and the balance checked. Cant regrind the baby's so it will be a new crank. A snippet at about 1K just for that, new engine..... £1400 everything spinkee with cams an schrick.... i thinks its gonna be pokey . BTW will i have to change anything from my old engine to fit the new one? IE MAF?
