peterwildish 0
1995 Corrado 2.9VR6, just picked this one up after 5 years with a 16v. One problem I have is that the egine cuts out when slowing down at junctions or when braking down. It re-starts OK. This happens when both cold & hot & will happen a couple of times over a 10 mile trip. If you rev the engine & quickly take your foot off it also tends to cut out as revs drop to around 600. The vacuum lines all seem OK, new plugs, air filter etc. It all goes OK otherwise, just this issue with low idle / cutout

VR6Pete 1,455
I'd start off by cleaning the ISV valve first, common fault and cheaper! Then run it though a VAG-COM see if any faults come up.cheers, pete
nakgti 0
Have the same problem on my 94 golf. Have changed the air flow meter, plugs and leads and the engine speed sensor(told buy VW computer). And still cuts out.....P.s. Whats the ISV valve.
SankysVR6 1
The ISV is the Idle Stabilisation Valve. Theres guide on how to clean on the Knowledge section, but you have to be a premium member to acess it
Petesvw 0
You tried cleaning the throttle body?
peterwildish 0
All fixed, running like a dream, Stripped & cleaned the MAF with a shed load of Isopropyl cleaner (99% Alc), then stripped & clean the ISV & throttle body with a load of carb cleaner. Fixed a small vacuum leak in the MAF housing breather connection, fired it all up & now it drives like a bat out of hell, tick over is spot on & it has not stalled since, almost as good as S**
