Talked to the specialist today and they advised me not to use the cartech FMU with the upgraded fuelpump (wich is suplied in the kit). They told me that on mid-range it would be "jumpy" and not smooth at all. So the FMU and fuelpump are replaced with just new injectors, and that should solve the problem.

Also the greddy blowoff valve (type S) was not a good option, so now its sold and replaced with another (with a lighter feather). They seem to know what they are talking about so I find myself taking their advises (lets see how it goes) ;)

They also replaced my cluch with a racing cluch. The old one was almost gonne and the cluch bearing was broken (12 years old).

Now they are finished with guide repair and thermostat housing replacement (wich I was suposed to do myself, but in fear of breaking on the way home I decided they could do)

They are now installing the kit so maybe in some weeks who knows:).

PS: anybody who would like to buy a Cartech FMU or a fuelpump(bosch)?

Ohh, I got my matz this week. :)

Which company is doing your conversion? They sound pretty good. Just noticed your car is LHD which is a good thing - that is normally the costly thing for us on RHD cars getting the turbo kit converted for RHD. So it's an ATP turbo kit - does this include a front mount intercooler or wing mounted? Do you know how long it is expected to take? Keep us up to date mate. By the way what's an FMU? Is that something to do with fuelling or the ecu? Are you using a standalone ecu or remapping the stock one?

The company is called "Vr6specialist" www.vr6specialist.com/start.php And yes they seem to do nothing but tune and fix Vr6 and R32. Seemed like the logical place to take my car:). After talking to a lot of tuners in Norway i decided that it was hopeless:(. One even hung upp on me while I was talking:(. Yes my car is LHD and the kit is suplied with a front mount intercooler. This kit is made for american spec Vr6es so The Vr6specialist told me that they are going to have to cut away alot of my bumper to fit the cooler. (US spec have greater clearance apperantly).

(Not totally sure on this bit so pleace correct me if I´m wrong): The FMU is used for adjusting the fuelpressure to the engine and its not conected to the ECU, Its totally manual, so if you adjust the boost you have to adjust the fmu so u get the right mix.

The ECU will be the stock one remapped.

Will keep posting when I hear something new.

They said that they take pics while working on the car so lets hope they take alot;).

My Vr6T is home :-d, and its FAST. I meen Holy sh** it just pulls and pulls. My right tire is now slick! Drove home from Holland, but without wastegate dumptube or returnpipe so max speed was 130 kmh or 80 mph and that speed sucks on the autobahn. My good friend Marius middlename Garmin;), directed us south for 3 hours, and when we found out Paris was closer than Hamburg! Hmmmmm do you think we reached our ferrie? Nope, so we drove the WHOLE way. When I went to bed I had been awake for 36 hours. But all in all it was worth it:).

Basically a bleed valve is a rather unregulated way to pile extra boost (or reduce the signal pressure to the wastegate). In my experience it's a little bit of a quick fix. Years ago, a friend of mine decided to add one to a R5 GTT and destroyed it. I can appreciate an engine can be built to take a bleed valve, but a little bit dangerous if you get boost greedy!! No biggie really ;)

He he I guess I have gone above 80 once or twice, (on a closed track of course;) ) I wont get greedy on the boost after using so much time and £ on it so dont worry Jay :). Pulled away from an old mustang the other day, Dont know the CID tough, but guess he was embaresed with his girl in the car:). Also drowe behind a suzuki GSXR1000 and he was amazed of how well i managed to stay with him. Thanks for positive respons:)
