OBD2 Question?

Was this engine fitted to the 96 P or did it start from 97?

Ive had a few mixed opinions.

Im looking for a vr6 at the mo and would prefer the OBD2 so obviously want to make sure I get the right one.

the actual mechanicals of the engine are the same its the electronics and throttle body thats diffrent

if you get a p-reg that will be obd2 for deffo but like said above they started late 95.

yeah some N reg obd2 spec cars still have sqaure type wing repeaters too! its only the later ones that have oval

Theres a P reg on autotrader but it says on the advert its an OBD1??? Theres a pic of the engine and the pipe on the rear of the engine looks like it has another one coming out of it. Strange :S

If it's P reg it will defintely be an OBD2. Unless it had an engine replacement - although can't imagine why they would put in an older OBD1 ecu/throttle body etc.
