Ch0yc3 0
The thing is both the vehicles do seem mechanically sound, they were both advertised for a lot more than I have got them down to, and it's really doing my head in!The thing with the 5-door higher mileage car is that I haven't been able to see the car where the guy lives, and he also was trying to arrange me picking it up from a site where he's working rather than from his home (although he did say that he needed a lift back). I'm a bit dubious about buying a car from someone without knowing where they live.Regarding the 3-door, if I got the address of the previous owner (as apparently there is only one) and asked her about mileage and servicing, surely that would clear up a lot of concerns about that car? I have noticed one for about £700 more which has FSH, low-mileage, I'm seriously thinking of going for that just for my own piece of mind.

Earwig 89
Let's not get this out of hand please.Someone here is interested in buying a VR6 and is looking for advice from an "Enthusiast"Whilst we appreciate the offer we would prefer to not have "Traders" trying to sell over inflated priced cars to our members here. You may be in the trade and know what you "Want" to get for your cars, but you will find that the people at this site know "Just a little more" than you think ;-)We will not let our members be swayed towards paying more for something when we know otherwise :-)Thanks to the members for keeping this thread polite whilst still looking out for the interests of the buyers, let's keep it just the same.Mark. [/quote']sounds like a plan, if you consider you may be able to knock that price down a bit for the last one you mention then it may be a better bet? again it depends on the car and its general condition, sometimes people are dodgy if they wont let you know where they live in case of come backs! but having said that IF they have owned it a while it MIGHT be registered to them? so the address will be on the log book! if they are not a trader that is asking a previous owner about a car is a good idea, some are vague but they can tell you if it was in a smack or had any major problems, especially if it is a 1 owner car, most dont mind being contacted either as they love the nostalgia talking about "their" old car
oolubs 0
I paided £3100 for my 1995 N reg Vr6 with 47k on the clock full Service history and mountains of receipts, bought from barking, one lady owner from new have all previous Mots and service record book too, which is quite rare on the car personally, Its done 55k now, had the car about a year, mine has full electrics but no leather or air con but not fussed, try to get one with alot of history and I wouldn't worry bout lux options like Leather which you can buy pretty cheap of have the cloth re trimmed.
