nice one mate looking good

why was the chain so tight because of the head gasket? did all the timing marks line up exactly with the bigger head gasket?

A chain job was done in 2004. VW here in Oslo did that. They fitted doublechains from a OBD1 car, instead off singel chain. And they fitted a OBD1 tensioner. WHY I dont know,

When putting the headspacer on it was tight. WHY? OBD1 tensioner is longer and have other threads than the OEM OBD2. Fitted a OBD2 tensioner, and everything was good to go. I did not know about this Tensioner thing, but now I know:)

thats a bad mutha baby' date=' sounds lovely, how long did it take you?

If you know what you are doing, I guess you can do it in 2 long days.

But we needed to do this after buisness ours, so the evnings and nights was long. I guess we used around four evnings/nights on it.

Beer and take away is nice to have also:) hehe..

The C2 ECU is maybe the best thing on the hole car. It drives like absolute stock, until you hit 3300rpm... Then all hell brakes loose:)

The Kinetic kit itself is very smooth to bolt on. The intercooling fitting/piping took almost as much time as the head gasket/timing job.

But I can see why this kit is so popular in Canada and States.

And for you people that have bad things to say about the C2/Jeff Artwood software think again.

Im one off the first in Europe to use a complete US C2 ECU,and it works SO good.

Have a nice VR day:)

Car is up and running, with complete 3" exhaust. 1 long muffler under the car and a muffler in the back with C2 OAP. Its loud as a f... !

The C2 OAP fitts great, you just need to take your time and do it right.

The ECU needed 4-6 start ups to "settle" The Idle was a little up and down. But after 1 our driving is all good.

Car drives like a dream.

Im boosting only 6 psi now. Im not gonna do anything before I get the widebang hooked up tommorow.

Some pics today. Been raining the hole day:

Wow, I havent been doing any research on the complete parts. But if you take the Kinetic Stage 3 kit, with a extra 300USD in Garrett 60/1 upgrade, a Peloquin, upgraded clutch, exhaust and some some other goddies such as extra fuel pump ang gauges... You will end up ALOT more than the original Kinetic stage 3 kit.

Ive ordered most off the parts from the US and A :)

No dyno yet. Ive had some troubles after 4500 - 5000 rpm from 4th - 5th gear. Seems like the engine is loosing power.. I guess its a typical boost leak. So I need to take a pressure test.

Right now, Ive been driving for three weeks with 17.5 psi, and its great. No issue's. Vag Com had no faults.

Pretty cool, when Vag Com found my engine. It said: AAA VR6 Turbo C2 Motorsports :)

Excellent numberplate by the way! Car looks nice too. And I see you've got the 'Old Volkswagens don't die, they just get faster' plate surround...was going to get that one :D

So..how have you got YOUR plate surrounds to stick without falling off? Sorry it's a bit of a running theme for me the past two days...lol

My Sachs sport clutch that I put in January 2006, broke today. So everytime I hit boost, the car screams out but not much happens. Actually I thought it was about damn time that clutch was letting loose. Its been very strong, compared to what its made for.

So this week it will be the new Race clutch in.

Logged Vag Com and wideband today. 20PSI all day long. AFR was 11-12.5 at full boost. Car runs very well, and are a real killer.

Got 2 euro ECU'S back from C2 yesterday. 1xOBD1 30# and 1x0BD2 42#

Both cars fired right up, and runs very good.

So C2 was happy, and off course we are happy.

Yeah, 20psi will do that ;-)

Do you get Euro ECUs from C2 quite regularly? I find they're not very communicative, but maybe thats' because I'm not a regular customer. How quick do they do it? Are UK OBD2 ECUs the same as German / Euro ECUs?

Everyone raves about C2 42lb code. I want to try it for myself :-)

Kev:

I have pretty good communication with C2.

Ive got a US 0BD2 ECU on my car works perfect.

Sent two Euro ECU's to them. One OBD1 30# and one OBD2 42#. Got them back, and they run perfect.

How long the waiting is, I cant say. It depends. But a month maybe. From you ship it from UK and get it back I guess.

I have a 96 OBD2. The Ecu code's are:

Bosch 0261 203 968/969

VW 74 021 906 256

The Euro 2.9 VR6 Syncro have the same ECU.

Jeff Atwood said to me, that the US/Euro ECU'S are basicly the same. Exept some off the emission stuff they have. But Jeff take's care off that.

Its all plug and play.

My car runs just like stock all the way to redline just like stock.

I would love to say with no issu's, but right now, I cant (h)

I am running pretty much the same set up as you but with a gt30r and sshort runner inlet and it great

but like you i killed my box and my engine !

I had a bit of an issue with my boost and run 2.4 or 2.6 bar only for a second but enough to blow the servo pipe out !

After that my engine had a knock for one day and then went .After that is was fine for about 500 miles and then started missing not bad but you could feel it another 400ish miles and my conrod snapped so i must of bent or stretched a rod that day !

Do you know how much boost you run when you had the pipe on wrong ?
