Fitted some stuff today. V-band oil catch tank, Fragola AN6 water lines for the GT35R and the new saturday candy package came from USA today

Some updates.

Next monday im gonna pick up the engine bottom.

Fresh buildt, with: Wiseco 82.5mm pistons, H-Beam rods, new bearings, new chain setup and ARP on everything.

Got new tires today as well. Toyo Proxes T1R 215/40-17" Had them before, and like them very much. And the price is very good on them over here.

The driveshaft shop 02M / 02A axels came in today. And WOW was THAT a fast delivery! Took 7 days, Right to the door! AMAZING!, and thank you!

Hope the service is the same when/if they brake

Description:

These are the new Level 2.9 475HP axles for the 93-98 Golf / GTI / Jetta with O2M 6-Speed Trans conversion. The set now features our chromoly cross groove 108mm inner CV. The standard 108mm inner CV has a very large internal spline (1.125 in diameter) the problem is that the outer CV internally has a much smaller diameter spline. What we have done is made a custom bar and CV races for both ends. We have made the inner CV spline smaller and the outer CV spline bigger, equalizing the bar size and make it significantly more torsional. This will be a very large advantage to any other axle on the market today. The outer CV also sports a newly designed cage and race that is thicker and 50% stronger than previous models. This is a direct bolt in unit and has a 1 year warranty.

It costs some money, but thats how it is.

My friend Erik, from Sweden is gonna run the same shafts on his monster Biturbo VR6 with the exact same gearbox/diff and clutch setup as I have.

Here is some pics..

2xGT3071R with Tial housings.

Downpipe is 2x3" that comes down to a 3.5" exhaust. 1600cc injectors on E85.

Engine block was finished at the workshop today. So I went to pick it up.

Then it was straight to the garage and start working.

After a acid bath, the block looks like new.

Everything inside is brand new. H-profil rods, new bearing, ARP everywere and 82.5mm Wiseco pistons.

Driveshafts are made as ordered afaik

I have a set of level 3 500hp for a B3 passat and a set of level 5 750 hp for a mk3 with 02M R32 gearbox ( will befitted to my syncro running widetrack) not the cheapest but well worth it

Your build is insane! Really like the parts you have choosen on the mk2 Syncro! GT42RS is a beast!

There is a lot of top notch bits going into the syncro alright lets see how long it lasts though :lol:

Was it you that was running an SQS 5 speed strong syncro gearset ?

The time has come to be getting a gearset for my passat VR6 Turbo I was thinking of quaife but have heard a bit of bad news about them in VRT's

I had SQS and it holds 20 psi just fine.

But stop wasting time and money on the 02A box. Get a 02M and ask C2 to provide you with the parts you need to get it to fwd. Its not that hard.

Yeah I had thought about it for a short while but I bought the level 3 shafts helix autosport paddle clutch and an SP Turbo lightened flywheel all for 02A gearbox, I will run it for a while and see how it goes can always change over at a later date.

I will be only running 15/16 psi so it should last for a while

I also seen that VR6 specialist do 02M to fwd conversion kits too not bad price either

is it possible to leave the transfer box on and just not connect the controller? It runs fine as 2wd and only goes into 4wd when the front spins so it makes me think it would run fine just without the controller or prop connected?

I have never heard of anyone doing that. C2 UK have all the brackets you need anyway. So why not use it?

I've never examined the Haldex system, but I guess, the 'controller' is an electro magnetic clutch in the rear diff? Hence why you see people unplugging it on 2WD dyno days :-)

If it works like other 4WD systems, then you still need some load on the transfer box (i,e, a prop or some wheels, diff etc) or it won't work. Bit like an open diff with one wheel staying still.

Coming along very nicely Maiden. Keep us posted on the 02M progress, definitely something I want to do to mine eventually.

The haldex is a hydraulicly driven clutch, run off of an electric pump, and controlled by a valve which is operated by a stepper motor. Thats why people unplug it. :)
