legvw 0
Ops! Has it pulled the threads out of the top of the gearbox?
MaidenVR6 26
Yes, it has broken off the whole bit where the threads are.Been running 15 psi for a very long time now. No issues.Three days with 20 psi, and problems comes.Well, its gonna be alot of work, to change the whole casing.
legvw 0
Could you not use any other mounting points on the gearbox? Or use any bolts in the end of the casing? Either will need the bracket modding, but that must be easier than changing gearbox casings!
MaidenVR6 26
Modding the bracket is a solution. And use other mounting points, yes. Im gonna look at it.

matty.vrt 120
Looking good would love a diesel final drive in mine when converted to 2wd you find your self going through the gears very quickly lol
MaidenVR6 26
I love the DRP gear ratio. Diesel will be to long and boring for me. I might try diesel setup in one of them, but then the Peloquin needs to be swaped over also. Cant drive without a LSD
VIW28 29
Nice update Building my 02M DRP with ERF TDi gearing at the minute, I thought the DRP gearing was very short, especially for turbo!
michael5556 247
long time no update! love this car.
MaidenVR6 26
Thanx.DRP is short, same as the R32 box is. But I like it like this. Might get a diesel box if I find a cheap one.Looks like I need Unitedmotorsport external oilcooler tube. Then I can run both OEM oilcooler and the Mocal.http://unitedmotorsport.co.uk/products/vr6-external-oil-cooler-tube/

Everything stock, exept chip and a 4bar fpr. Had this for over a year. Back in 2005/2006
legvw 0
What's your plans for your gearbox mount then fella? And what's the cylindrical silver thing for?!
MaidenVR6 26
What's your plans for your gearbox mount then fella? And what's the cylindrical silver thing for?!Gearbox plan is clear: I got a V6 4Motion DRP box that im gonna use. Put the Peloquin diff in it, and take off the transfer box like I did on the broken 02M. Have that as a spare box. Then mount it to the car with DLI teknik 02M mk4 gearmount togheter with mk4 dogbone under the car. Some welding need to be done, but it should hold the power good.AND USE ALOT OF CAUTION so that I mount the engine/gearbox 100% in a straight line. Not like the "in a hurry" job I did last time.Cylindrical silver thing is a holder for stock FPR. But with AN6 connections.
