mike 6
If they get funny just quote the Sales of Goods Act - if the goods/service/product you have paid for is not to a reasonale expected standard in any way you are entitled to get it all rectified (you have up to 6 years to claim this) and if they can't rectify it they are liable to give a full refund.Glad you pointed them out. Certainly not a garage I'll be trusting my VR with. Not knowing how much it will cost is rediculous. Hope you get it all sorted out. Not the hassle you need at all! You mentioned above you didn't know how much it would cost until it was all done...Did they not ring you up as they went along and said "this and this needs doing and it will cost this amount extra on top of the quote"? They just went ahead without your authorisation and did a load of extra work??! Very unprofessional. If this is the case you could sue them in the small claims court - at the very least make a complaint about them with Trading Standards. I'm sure you must have some rights in this kind of case. i fully agree with taht, you need to serously make a complaint and tell them you are doing so, and if extra work is needed insist it is done for n othing as tehy have already over charged you and its likely to be there fault by teh sounds of thibgs. there is no way i would have paid that bill they should have warned you.sorry to hear this btw mate, i would have wanted a new engine for that price.mike
