SankysVR6 1
If you can buy an empty barrel from the dealers, you can then take all the bits out of your old lock and fit them in to your new one.I had to buy the whole boot lock with a new key when mine broke. Then i just fitted the bits from the old lock barrel to the new barrel. That way everything worked with one key.
J2VRG 0
the barrel actually seems fine.it seems to be the part that attachesthe barrel to the mechanism in the door thats broken(if that makes sense?).will probably need the whole bloody lock etc knowing my luck. richievr 1
you will need a new barrel from the dealer, with a new spring and carrier and paddle shape thingy!!the barrel comes empty so you can swap your innards into it and hence keep the same key..not a difficult job , but a bit fiddly. done a few myself..... J2VRG 0
well thats me just finished the lock on the car.was chuffed that it only took me about 30mins to do.the worst part is taking all the bits out the old barrel and putting them into the new one, just make sure if you ever do this that you remember to take the small springs out of each part of the barrel aswell as it does help. :$ thanks richievr for the help in ordering the right bits.
