kalv 0
That is my whole point.. I want my VR to be different.. no badgeless grill.. no mk4 headlights.. no silver/chrome alloys.. The GTi shows what everyone else does.. and my VR is my individulastic project... which is why i got the porsche brakes.. to date, haven't seen a VR with them on...The project continues... Wush 1
Can you tell us more about the porsche brakes?what car were they from? just front or rear too? cost? cheers
kalv 0
You can pick the brakes up from anywhere.. breakers.. ebay etc. It's your choice which ones you want.. whether it be porsche ones or brembo ones... front or rear... I went for Boxster S red calipers because they were bigger and come as Red as standard. They are the same as the red calipers found on some 996 models as standard. I bought them from a breaker who would only sell them as a set of 4 (inc. new pads/clips/pins etc). I kept the front ones and sold the rears on.I found a company called GTIsVW to machine a carrier to fit the MK3 hub. I had to send him a complete caliper with pads so he could measuer it up and properly bench test it. He also supplied the discs/bolts/stainless hoses to match and fit the MK3.My old man fitted them for me and didn't have a problem. Only thing you will need is to check the clearance of the alloys against the calipers.. as I never did that when we fitted them and got lucky the alloys cleared! The whole kit:[lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1180426988_4477_FT173915_porsche1.jpg][/lightbox]

vr6newcomer 1
good point well made kalv, i dont want a low vr with deep dish alloys, yawn, its all about your own personal touches, ive got a badgeless grill, but its the f.k. 4 bar rather than the run of the mill two. kalv 0
I've been to about 3 v-dub shows this year.. and it's getting even harder to try and stand out from the crowd on a realistic budget... so that is my aim.
