duncs 0
Hi guys, advice please.I don't have a garage, so my VR6 lives outside. Heavy rain over the weekend, and on taking my VR6 out today, I noticed about 1.5-2 inches of water on the passenger side footwell - both front and rear :-( No obvious signs of ingress - doorcards, seats etc all dry, as is the parcel shelf and area around the windscreen. No evidence of a fault with the windscreen seal, it is the original windscreen (my VR is a 1995 M-plater).Had the car serviced 6 months ago and had the sunroof drains cleared out then, is it likely they'd have blocked again so soon?I'm a bit foxed, any ideas where the leak could be coming from/why?CheersDuncs
Petesvw 0
Altho you may have had the sun roof drains done - are the drains under the scuttle cover clear? If not the water can quickly build up and come thru the heater fan vent located on the passenger side.
duncs 0
I've now isolated the leak, it appears to be a trickle of water which runs down the side of the passenger footwell and then into the carpet. Hard rain brings about 1 inch of water along the passenger footwell.Likely windscreen seal on passenger side?
Mr_GTI 0
cover the area lightly in some talc and down on the carpet and give the car a go over with the hose, then you can see where the water is coming from as it will leave a trail. when done just hover up.
