The Absinthe Fairy 0
I still have the ugly exhaust poking out of the back of my car and would really appreciate any suggestions as to which back box I could put on-I can't really afford the expense or insurance of putting full system all through-and I have no clue about exhausts Has anyone put one on or know of an idiots guide?xcx
Macca 1
All the main players make exhausts for VR6s. I have a supersprint which i like, other good ones are jetex, milltek, scorpion and lots of others. DONT buy a Peco - you might be tempted as they are the cheapest, but they make a fucking racket and are not cool.Changing a backbox will not be difficult, just make sure that the car is well supported on axle stands as you may need to really beat the old exhaust off. Or for only 15quid an exhaust shop will change them for u. Make sure they get the fit right, as theres nowt worse than a floppy pipe
Guest Olly_K
DONT buy a Peco - you might be tempted as they are the cheapest' date=' but they make a fucking racket and are not cool.Yep, they're not big and they're not clever. but seriously, like macca said, any of those will be good enough. its all dont to personal preference. I've got a milltek full system on mine, and i love it. the tailpipe doesnt exactly look much but i like the understated look anyways. Actually, i was thinking about going twin dtm what do you reckon ?
kobi 0
Whats the Militek sound like?I've a standard VR. I love the sound of the engine, i'm going to be adding a BMC induction kit and an exhaust, something that sounds beefy.... hopefully [ Edited Mon Jul 26 2004, 03:30PM ]

acf8181 0
i'm not a fan of load exhausts...i'm getting my o.e. one chromed at some point (but i'm lucky and have the early slash cut design (actually, i have a spare as well), not the twin downswept pee shooters design!) Eat this 2
iv got an fk (i think) and it sounds awesome
Guest Olly_K
milltek sounds very muted. only very slightly deep on tick over, but floor it from low revs and combined with an air filter it sounds like a turbo. not kevvy at all, you dont go down the street going bhabahabhabahbahbhabhaaa

kobi 0
As i've only just found out Edition 38 is basically another VW forum but with an extensive "for sale" section. You can more or less get anything you want for your dub on there. Really really useful. Check it out: www.edition38.com
The Absinthe Fairy 0
Found a Sportex backbox-m anyone know if that is any good.ALso- if spec says it fits mk3 Gti can I assume it fits mk3 vr6 as well?Hope that aint too daft a question....?[ Edited Tue Jul 27 2004, 12:20PM ]
jonvr6highline 0
Its another website dedicated to dubbers!www.edition38.comCheersJon 8o)
dubloke 4
sportex are basically a cheaper version of peco, more noise than anything else! do not presume that a gti back box will fit a vr either, make sure it specifies the vr in its fitment range before you buy! and i would get a local zorst centre to fit it, saves a lot of hassle in the long run!
